Our position
The Meridian Athenaeum is committed to preventing any form of forced labour, servitude, or exploitation in its operations and supply chains. This statement is published in accordance with applicable legislation and represents the institution's commitment to transparency on this issue.
Supply chain assessment
The Athenaeum assesses its supply chains for modern slavery risk as part of its standard procurement process. Supplier due diligence is conducted before engagement and reviewed periodically. Contracts include expectations relating to labour standards.
The institution acknowledges that certain supply chains — including those extending into custody partners outside any single terrestrial regulatory framework — cannot be assessed using standard procurement tools. Risk in these chains is managed through the Custody Agreement Framework (MA-POL-003) and supplementary due diligence conducted in partnership with the relevant liaison office.
Training and review
Relevant staff receive training on recognising and responding to indicators of exploitation. This statement is reviewed annually by the Registrar and approved by the Conservation Committee.
