Archive access.

Archive access is available by request to partner institutions, researchers, and custodians with a clear purpose and appropriate supervision. The archive holds object files, condition logs, field notes, frame readings, chronological records, and a number of items whose access condition is itself a matter of record.

Access may be in person at a designated reading room, conducted remotely through a prepared extract, mediated through a supervised terminal, or — where distance or frame position makes attendance impractical — arranged through a recognised local intermediary. Handling copies are issued where contact with the original would alter either the object or the reader.

Requests should identify the object or record, the research question, the requesting institution, the intended form of use, and any relevant access requirements. Requests for frame condition logs or ontological survey data are subject to additional review, and some records take longer to locate than others.

Reading Rooms

Access may be in person at a designated reading room, conducted remotely through a prepared extract, mediated through a supervised terminal, or — where distance or frame position makes attendance impractical — arranged through a recognised local intermediary.

Handling Copies

Copies are issued where contact with the original would alter either the object or the reader. For some accessions, a handling copy is the only form in which material can be safely shared; for others, the copy diverges from the original over time and must be used with reference to its preparation date.

Requests

Requests for frame condition logs or ontological survey data are subject to additional review. Response times vary; some records take longer to locate than others.
