Maximise
MA·L+2·2031.006 Class V Public register
Pl. MA·L+2·2031.006 — the Tessellate Choir. Paired resonant bodies; recovered sounding a chord no one had struck.

An array of paired resonant bodies that holds a chord no one present has struck.

Description
An array of forty-one paired resonant bodies on a common frame, each tuned to its partner. Together they hold a single sustained chord. No means to strike or bow them has been found; they were recovered already sounding.
Provenance
Recovered from Tessellate Prime, Local Plus 2. The makers are not on record; the survey logged the chord before it logged the object.
Condition
Sound and sounding. The chord has not shifted in pitch against the Meridian Standard since accession. It cannot be silenced without dismantling the frame, which is not permitted.
Handling
Public register. Reading rooms adjacent to the case report the chord as present whether or not the door stands open.
