MA·2019.111 Class VII Sealed display
Pl. MA·2019.111 — the Ashfall Reliquary. Hammered iron and tooth-inlay; it settles overnight to a single bearing.

A Drûl funerary reliquary of hammered iron and bone, recovered as war-spoil.

Description
A Drûl funerary reliquary: a hammered-iron casket, banded and riveted, the lid inlaid with rows of teeth of no catalogued species. Among the Drûl, the ash of a fallen war-leader is sealed in such a casket. This one is sealed, and is presumed occupied.
Provenance
War-spoil, recovered during the partner's incursion engagement; see the incident file. The Athenaeum holds the casket but not the record of where it was taken.
Condition
Sound and sealed. Left undisturbed, it settles overnight along one consistent bearing — toward, it is supposed, the ground of its making.
Handling
Sealed display. It is not to be opened.
