That is why Adrian keeps asking for a tablet. A distributed fog cannot be falsified. A tablet can at least be read.

Because the fog is made of real ancient things, and I care what happens to them. If the claim were pure nonsense I would ignore it. The pain is that it touches the right objects with the wrong hands.

That is the spiritual wound of this whole subject. The cheap version knows where the sacred objects are. It simply lacks reverence for their actual strangeness.

Neither neatly. I think ancient religious texts deserve to be allowed to mean religiously before we turn them into bad engineering diagrams. That is not the same as believing what the temple believed. It is closer to manners.

Manners toward the dead is not a small thing. It is part of method. People who treat ancient categories as childish versions of modern categories will always find modern answers hiding there, because they packed them in first.
