By the Concord — Welcome
Aurei, of the Rings and the Sky-Roads
An island-state of the southern ocean: a confederation of concentric rings gathered about the central mount and the Helion, governed by the Concord and kept by long tradition.
Travellers arrive in the company of the Order and are received as guests of the rings. Our city is crossed by tall stone bridges and threaded by canals; dirigibles ride at the mooring-masts and pass between the rings; horses and gilded elevators carry citizen and visitor alike up the terraces to the bridge-heads and the mount.
Our engines run upon the tide and the steam and the patient art of our wrights; our halls are of marble and teak and feather; our weather is fair, by the keeping of the Aegis. This Office commends to the visitor the landmarks, attractions, and civic institutions set out alongside — and bids them go gently, and admire much.
