Fran, exactly. "Believe the room" is the whole craft. A damp cellar lies to the optimistic and a dry room punishes bad seals. Barb, your shelf direction is elegant because it forces the hand to do the right thing before the brain has a chance to be lazy. Mae, the empty space is not wasted space. It is the space where the system breathes.

And this thread is the right version of sharing. Diagrams, shelf directions, labels, humidity numbers, apartment adaptations. No glamour shots of full shelves, no house layout, no window view. Anyone can copy the method and nobody can count your tins.
