• Use for visual italics in pages.
• Use CITE for titles of works and EM for emphasis when meaning matters.
• Avoid long italic paragraphs on low-resolution screens.
• Check that nearby punctuation reads correctly.

Common Mistakes

• I is presentational, not semantic.
