I had a witness report me a sighting once that bothered me for weeks. Lights moving in formation, silent, impossible angles. Spent hours on it. Then I got the flight path data from the airport twelve miles south. Helicopter drill. Same witness retracted a few years later, and we grabbed coffee. She said the retraction was harder than the original report. It made her a better observer after that. Fear of being wrong keeps you sloppy.

All right, I hear you. You've got the data lined up. I still think people should push back on these things, because there's a lot of noise in the signal. But you did the homework. That's more than most people do. I respect that, even if I'm not ready to stop questioning everything.
