Finally got the scanner working so here is one I have wondered about since 1981. Took it east of Yuma, evening, this thing was just hanging there and then it was not. No sound I can remember but I was a ways off. Scanned from the print, sorry about the quality, the print was not great to begin with.

Probably nothing. Figured I would put it somewhere.

That is a helicopter. That is so obviously a helicopter that I scrolled back up to make sure I was not being set up. You can see the tail boom, the blob on the left is the rotor disc blurred by your shutter, and Yuma is lousy with military rotor traffic because of the proving ground. Twenty years and nobody told you it was a helicopter? Somebody should have.

Fair enough. You are probably right about the boom, I never saw it that way. The proving ground makes sense too. I will leave it up in case anyone wants to argue but I am not going to be the one arguing. Thanks for the straight answer, most places would have strung me along.

Credit where due, Ron. Most people ask for a straight answer and then get mad when they receive one.

I am still saying helicopter. I am also saying keep the old scans coming if you have them, because sometimes the ordinary explanation is useful too.
