[staff] Pinned and locked because it is a standard, not a debate. Before you post a "free energy" or "over-unity" device in this board, read this, and then post your device in its OWN thread.

The claim "over-unity" means COP greater than 1 -- more useful energy OUT than you put IN, measured, over a closed cycle. Not "it runs a long time." Not "it spins." A good flywheel on a good bearing, given one shove, will run a startlingly long time, and a long-running thing is not an over-unity thing; it is a low-loss thing, which is wonderful engineering and a completely different claim.

So the bar is simple and it is the same bar physicists hold each other to: state your INPUT honestly (every input -- the push, the battery, the mains trickle, ambient heat, ambient RF, the operator's own warmth) and your OUTPUT measured against a real LOAD. A spinning rotor does no measurable work; put a calibrated brake on it -- a Prony brake is two bits of wood, a bolt and a fish scale -- and tell us the torque it sustains at a given speed. That is watts. If watts-out beats watts-in across a full cycle, with the method stated, you will be the most important person alive and several of us will say so in writing.

We are not here to humiliate you. We will help you measure it properly, for free, because measuring it properly is the kindest and most serious thing anyone has ever offered your invention. What we will not do is accept "it has not stopped" as a measurement. If you will not put a load on it, we both already know why. Bring numbers. -- SkepWell.

I have some good bar stock and magnet wire if anyone is actually going to run the numbers instead of just arguing. 8mm copper, clean. Link in profile for the sheet. Bring a brake, not a story.
