Add one ugly practical note: log the room too. Temperature, pump cycling, who opened the chamber, who walked in, what time the HVAC kicked, all the stupid environmental stuff that makes a clean graph suddenly grow a personality. The boring notebook is what lets the exciting trace survive a hostile reader.

If the signal is real it can stand being bored at.
