Before anyone blesses the blue screen, find out what else is on that ring main. Fridge, dimmer, aquarium pump, cheap speakers, phone charger, anything that hums, clicks, or warms itself like a guilty little brick.

If the substation night changed the supply shape, dirty domestic gear may have changed with it.

Clean version for the next run: same room, same chair, same microphone position, lights off door open as before. Someone other than cathode_monk selects one condition from shuffled cards: blue raster, white raster, CRT off with blue card, CRT off with no card. No speaking in the room, and the selected card is not revealed until after the time and sensation notes are written.

Separately log fridge, dimmers, transformers, and anything else on the circuit if noticed. Keep the Sound Forge files for all trials, including the boring ones. No victory laps either way until there are enough runs to be dull about it.
